English royalty were fond of Lavender during the Victorian era.
Queen Victoria appointed an official Lavender purveyor.The floors in the castle hallways were sprinkled with Lavender so that when people would walk on them it would release the wonderful sent from the Lavender buds.Queen Victoria’s Love and passion for Lavender encouraged all fine English ladies to scent themselves and their homes with Lavender.
During World War I, Lavender was used as a wound dressing for wounded soldiers.
